|Through gifts, and purchases funded by donations, the Guilford College Art Gallery Permanent Collection has grown dramatically over the past several years. The gallery¹s acquisitions committee aims to collect a wide-range of fine art and crafts, broadly representative of periods and styles, international in focus, and pluralistic in vision and culture. Original works of art in the Collection are envisioned as a necessary primary source of knowledge and inspiration, and are intended to reflect the ongoing metamorphosis of the College’s curriculum.
|This exhibition showcases a selection of recent additions including works by Anni Albers, Josef Albers, Richard Anuskiewicz, Bill Burg, Sue Coe, Salvador Dalí, Minnie Evans, David Faber, Sam Gilliam, Vandorn Hinnant, Hiroshige II, Joe Overstreet, Anna Kulczycka, Kunichicka, Chen Lu, Richard Mayberry, Bruce Onobrakpeya, and Norm Schulman. Additionally, two 20th century African textiles by unidentified artists are on display.
