Book Delivery

Q. What is book delivery?

A. Through Guilford’s Book Delivery Service, Guilford faculty can request to have books from the Hege Library, as well as books requested through interlibrary loan, delivered to their campus mail box.

Q. Who can request materials?

A. Any member of the Guilford teaching faculty with a campus mail box is welcome to submit requests.

Q. How do I request materials?

A. Guilford faculty can request books via the WorldCat.org catalog or the Guilford College WorldCat catalog. Request books through these catalogs by clicking the “Request using ILLiad” link. We will fill your request and deliver the item to your campus mail box.

Q. How will the materials be delivered?

A. Library staff and students will deliver books. To reduce the risk of lost or misplaced items, materials will be delivered in the following order: faculty offices, departmental secretaries, and faculty mail boxes.

Q. How quickly can I expect my materials?

A. Resources that are available in the Hege Library (i.e. on the shelf for use) will be delivered within 24 hours. Materials that are requested from other libraries are subject to typical interlibrary loan transit time (i.e. from a few days to a few weeks).

Q. What can I request?

A. Most books that can be checked out from the Hege Library can be included in your book delivery request.
