Hege Library & Learning Technologies Makersuite: Mission & Vision

In furthering institutional values and academic principles, the Hege Library Makersuite mission is to provide and foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary experiential learning environment for the academic community at Guilford College.  The Makersuite operates as both a physical and virtual space to enhance the curriculum and academic experience via practical, hands-on exposure to both established and emerging technology, software, and skills.

Our vision follows that of the Hege Library Academic Commons as a whole; to be a symbol of academic excellence and institutional distinctiveness in furthering innovation through collaboration.

The Ideation Lab

The Ideation Lab is a flexible space that encourages learning, creativity and collaboration by providing the academic community at Guilford College with access to a wide variety of tools and space centred round creation through experience.

The Visual Recording Studio

The Textile Studio - Coming Soon!

The Textile Studio will work to facilitate the exploration of various aspects of textile design and production within a cooperative, explorative environment.

The Immersive Experiences Studio - Coming Soon!

The Immersive Experiences Studio will be a dedicated space for the creation and exploration of immersive technologies — in both the physical and virtual worlds.
