LSTA Mobile Edge Grant 2019

The Mobile Edge grant initiative is made possible by funding from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMSL grant number LS-OO-0034-19).  Matching funds in the amount of $10,864.00 are made possible by the Guilford College Friends of the Library. The Center for Principle Problem Solving (CPPS) has pledged to contribute funding for a paid student internship to support these efforts for the duration of the grant period.

LSTA Mobile Edge Grant 2019 Overview

Guilford College’s Hege Library and Learning Technologies was awarded a Library Services and Technology (LSTA) grant in the amount of $48,158.00 to advance The Mobile Edge, an initiative reimagining and expanding digital media services for enhanced mobility. This will support new academic priorities of the Guilford Edge designed to increase student participation in study away and abroad experiences and community engagement. It will be vital for the new academic calendar featuring redesigned experiential curricula, and Guilford’s new Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP): Speak UP: Unifying Presentation for an Inclusive, Connected World; both stressing collaborative engaged learning, discovery, and critical creation by all students outside of the classroom.
