Interlibrary Loan

Overview

Interlibrary Loan is a service allowing students, faculty, and staff to borrow books, articles, and other materials needed for research and academic pursuits from libraries nationwide when the item is not available at Guilford College. Before submitting a request, check the Library Catalogue to see if the item is available in this library. Please see our ILL Request page for instructions on requesting items.

Interlibrary Loan is a free service with few exceptions. Sometimes the lending library will charge for lending materials. If this occurs, the library's maximum cap for requests is $30. As such, students, faculty, and staff may have to pay a percentage of the amount on the invoice.

Please note that Interlibrary Loan borrowing privileges may be suspended if a patron fails to return borrowed materials in a timely manner, or fails to pay any invoices in a timely manner. Overdue fees will be applied when the item is one week overdue. Replacement charges will be assessed per the lending library's lending policies. Once invoiced by the lender, we cannot remove or reduce the associated bill.
