For Faculty: Service Continuity

Library and Learning Technologies works with faculty to provide devices on extended loan through the Mobile Edge initiative to enable students in need to engage in their coursework.. This includes Mac and PC laptops and tablets. A limited number of laptops with Adobe Creative Cloud are available for students enrolled in courses where Adobe CC is a requirement. All device requests must come through faculty via the Mobile Edge request form. 

Note: This extended device loaning service is intended to support students in need for the duration of up to three consecutive sessions (including summer).  Beyond that, we encourage students to invest in their own laptop computing devices to support their academic journeys in understanding of the fact that a laptop is an essential tool for academic success.

o   Students also may apply to the John Thomas Subak Emergency Fund, which provides up to $500 in assistance, for laptop purchases.

We are not able to accept laptop requests directly from students; requests must come from your instructor using the request form that has been shared with them.  Please contact your instructor directly if you have not already heard from them. 

Students will be required to fill out a borrowing contract via Google Form and will be responsible for any damages to the device or charger. 

Devices will be checked out for the semester. Students will be responsible for returning the devices and charger on time to the Office of Public Safety by the specified due date and are responsible for all return shipping costs, overdue and replacement fees due to damage or loss. Students who are local and wish to do curbside pick-up and return may do so by scheduling an appointment with Access & Information Services Librarian, Liz Wade.
