This guide is to help Guilford student connect to resources they need to knowledgeably cast their ballots in U.S. elections, including methods to vote locally or by absentee ballot and how to find reliable information about candidates.

Informed Voting: Researching Candidates

You have your voting plan. You know where and how you will register and cast your vote. Make sure your vote counts and will express your informed choice. Review your choices in advance so you know what boxes to check when you have your ballot in hand.

This guide primarily focuses on items that appear on the ballot you will get if voting with Guilford College as your registered residence. The National Candidates and North Carolina Races tabs link you to candidate information for high level races. Your local home community elsewhere in NC or in another state will have additional local items on their ballots. See box below for tips on how to find information for other locations.
