Canvas for Students

A student-centered guide for using Canvas

Welcome!

Canvas is Guilford College's learning management system (LMS). It supports online learning and teaching in three different modes: face-to-face, hybrid, and online-only. In all cases, Canvas provides tools to support learning that range from structures learning pathways to dynamic, interactive virtual classrooms. How a course is presented depends on the mode, the content and complexity of the materials, and the delivery methodologies used by the instructor.

It is vitally important that you take the time to learn and understand the class environment in Canvas. Once you log in, explore a little bit: click on the menu options to see what happens. In particular, you will want to find the posted class materials (including the syllabus), any discussion boards or chat rooms, how and where to submit assignments, where to see your grades, and how to keep in touch with your instructor and your classmates.

You can access your Canvas courses by going here and logging in using your Guilford username and network credentials.
