Service Alert
The Carnegie Gallery, established in the fall of 2023 in the Hege Academic Commons, is designed to
support both physical and digital displays and exhibitions. The mission of this space is to showcase all
that is distinctively Guilford: to be a celebration of all manner of intellectual and artistic endeavors by
students, faculty, staff, and alumni alike. The Gallery also may serve to illuminate and/or augment
signature College-sponsored programmatic offerings, such as the Bryan Series and Ethical Leadership
Conferences. Like the Carnegie Room proper, the Gallery is a space that may foster external relationship
and partnership development efforts by the Office of the President and the Offices of Advancement and
Admissions.
In addition to opportunities for display of artworks of various types – e.g. paintings, prints, photography
– the physical space also provides opportunities for showcasing class projects and for showcasing
research and creative accomplishments featured at the annual Guilford Undergraduate Symposium
(GUS). The Gallery also features four digital display panels of two types: Vertical/Portrait and
Horizontal/Landscape. The vertical displays feature information and announcements of opportunities
and events in static format, while the larger horizontal displays are for high-level presentations and
exhibitions that may be complementary to or independent of the physical displays.
This page will provide you with all the information you need for taking advantage of the Gallery’s
potential to project a sense of community and campus engagement through its visual display options.
