Questions to ask:

  • What do we want to know?
  • What outcomes will show that we have achieved our library goals?
  • What data do we need to demonstrate that we have achieved our goals?
  • How do our goals relate to those of our strategic plan and mission?  And to the mission of the college?
  • What are we going to do with this information when we get it?

Integrating Strategy & Assessment

Guiding Questions to Integrate Strategy & Assessment:

  • What do we need to know about our communities?
  • What organizational capacity and strategy is needed?
  • Who are our partners in collaborative assessment?  
  • How do we measure the effectiveness of our services, programs, and resources & their contribution to user success?  
  • What do our stakeholders need to know in order to provide the resources needed for a successful library?
  • How can we assess our progress with strategic planning?
