Guide for Thesis Research

This guide was created to support students throughout their thesis creation process. The guide covers topics ranging from initial research planning stages all the way to culmination of the project. View the menu on the left to find what you need.

 

If you need an introduction to conducting research, or you wish to refresh some concepts, we suggest viewing the How Do I…? guide. This guide can help you develop and explore your topic, learn more about searching the library catalog and databases, avoid plagiarism, and correctly cite your sources in your work. 
 

If you need assistance at any point, click on the Research, Tutoring, & Writing Support tab to:

  • Schedule a research consultation (either in person or via Zoom) by contacting research@guilford.edu.
  • Make an appointment or view the drop-in schedules at the Learning and Writing Center for: 
    • Writing consultations including proofreading, help with citation, advanced coursework and independent study, senior theses, and creative writing 
    • Tutoring sessions with professional as well as trained peer tutors 
    • Time management and study skills instruction
    • Support for special academic needs
