Carmel, 3 miles south of Forbush Meeting, Yadkin Co. (PA). 1958: Deed of .72 acres adjacent property to (ditto), dated 9-23-1958, Yadkin Co., Book 83, p. 581 (D).

Location: Carroll County, Va. 219 Religion Road, Galax.
Timeline: Mt. Pleasant MM 1801 included Mt. Pleasant, Chestnut Creek and other meetings (Surry QM). Laid down 1817/1818 and succeeded by Chestnut Creek MM, which was laid down ca. 1826 (Hinshaw, Weeks). Revived as worship group under Mountain View MM 1960. Left NCYM ca. 1979 (reported to be disbanded between 1979 and 1989 by Hill, but congregation continued to meet without owning the property).
1826: Copy of (N.C.?) deed to James Edwards (CC-Old Quaker Graveyard).
1858-1859: Meeting for Sufferings investigating deeds for Mt. Pleasant and Chestnut Creek. Found one for Chestnut Creek, not one for Mt. Pleasant. 1892-1896: Representatives investigating about 20 acres in Carroll Co., Va., said to belong to Friends. (PA)
1964: Permanent Board settling claims around Old Quaker Graveyard near Galax, Va. 1967: approved $700 to settle new building debt at Mt. Pleasant. 1978-1979: Mt. Pleasant withdrawing from NCYM. References deed of 1797 recorded April 1798, including meetinghouse and graveyard. Title search, court action recommended. 1981: Survey completed, deed cleared for 1.98 acres, “far less than the 7 or 8 acres made in the deed in 1797 due to [uncontested] encroachment by surrounding land owners.” Title of “Chestnut Creek Friends Meeting” includes cemetery and land surrounding meetinghouse. References prior deeds of 9-25-1797, in then Grayson Co, Va., Book 1, p. 161 and of 6-6-1925, Carroll Co., Va. Deed Book 54, p. 41. Called Chestnut Creek Meeting House, Old Quaker Graveyard, and Mt.
